Here are some tips to help you ?cut the fat? and improve the productivity of your business. If you apply a few of these, you?re well on your way to achieving greater profit and creating less stress!

1. Cut the Slackers!

?Carrying dead-weight employees? Lose them now!? Ever tried to run a marathon whilst towing an old tire? This is what it?s like trying to grow a productive business with unproductive (or unmotivated) employees. Not only will they not add value to your bottom line, they?ll drag other ?productive? workmates to their level. Cutting a slack worker (legally of course) will actually increase the productiveness of other workmates.

2. Cut the Paper!

?Start a war against paper!? Do you need to print that email to read it? Or that brief? Reduce office clutter on desks and encourage better use of digital filing. Ask clients to email files rather than send faxes, and printed media. Use a web based project management or time tracking solution rather than paper based timesheets. Get the drift ? saves trees too!

3. Cut the Time!

?A task can take both 10 minutes and an hour!? Have you noticed that if you give a task (i.e.: write a proposal) to an employee and they have a day to do it, they will, but if you give them 3 days to do the same task, guess what, they?ll take 3 days! Put tight and exact deadlines (i.e.: Wed 3:30pm) on important tasks, and your staff will become more productive.

4. Cut the Expenses!

?Plug all the holes in your cash flow!? Make a list of all general expenses in your business. Ne

xt to each one, write one of the following: Need it, Review it, Cut it. Take this list to either a receptionist or employee with some free time. Have them work down the list firstly on the expenses to ?Cut?. This will create immediate savings. Then have them ?Review? the expenses you need, but perhaps could get a better deal on. ?Trimming the fat? every 6 months can help you create profit.

5. Target Different Work!

?One project for $20,000 or ten projects for $2,000 each?. Look at the type of work you?re targeting. Is it worth targeting a different type or value of work? Most businesses just ?do what they?ve always done? rather than looking for more profitable types of revenue. Think hard about other more profitable work your business can do with its available resource.

6. Don?t Work Late, Come in Early!

?A clear mind is a productive mind!? Outside of work, this time should be used to recharge. Don?t take extra work home, rather just go home, relax, play golf, go for a run, enjoy the family & come in early to do that extra work. Not only will you work better after relaxing, but your family life will improve!

7. Motivate Staff, Offer Incentives!

?Staff priorities are not the same as manager priorities!? Managers, Owners & Directors have different motives and priorities than staff. Just because you are excited about your business doesn?t mean the staff are. Your mind is on the bottom line, whereas staff think of their pay, and they?ll get paid whether they perform or not. Motivate staff with performance related bonuses such as money, time off & job flexibility.

8. Hire multi-skilled workers!

?Enlarge your skill base without the cost!? It?s better to have two designer/developers, than a designer and a developer. Multi-skilled workers, by nature are generally better problem solvers, more flexible and more productive than single skilled workers. You?ll also have more options for work delegation and due to an increased skill base will be able to take on a wider range of projects.

9. Clean your Desks!

?Start the Week Fresh?. Make it company policy that every Friday, before staff leave, all loose paper is to be filed away or organized in racks, drawers, folders or cabinets. A messy workspace is a messy mind. By having staff organize their desks on Friday, when they start on Monday, they?ll get straight info focused work, rather than looking at clutter wondering where to start. More productive time!

10. Clean your Digital Files!

?Make it easy to find information!? Searching hard drives and servers for information can waste a lot of productive time. Designate a tech employee the job of tidying the server. Have them organize files logically into client folders, archive or remove old files, check everybody has good network access and tidy the other staffs? desktops and PCs.

11. Prioritize Your 20%?ers!

?Do the important things first!? Most people procrastinate on the 20% of the tasks that create 80% of the revenue. At the end of each day, make a list for the next day. If you have 25 tasks, list the 5 most important revenue generating tasks (the 20%?ers), then list the 5 most urgent tasks (usually admin). By working through the 20% items first, you?re working ?on? the business (growth), rather than ?in? the business (maintenance).

12. Review your Services!

?Your services should be team players, not just expenses!? Do you consider your accountant, or lawyers an expense? Or do they truly add value? A good accountant will save you more money than they cost. With so many accountants, lawyers, printers, couriers etc available, are you sure you are working with the best you could be? Every 6 months you should review your external services with this question in mind: ?Are they helping or hindering my business??

13. Systemize your Processes!

?How can I do it easier, faster, and cheaper?? As a matter of habit, always look for ways to systemize processes. Create templated emails, templated forms and documents, a ?roles and responsibilities? chart, use process automation applications, digital timesheets, auto responders, automatic payments etc. Almost every process in your business can be creatively systemized to be easier, faster, and cheaper! If you systemize 3 processes a month, that?s 36 processes a year ? what a difference!

14. Use Remote Workers!

?Only pay for what you use!? Every staff member not only costs a salary, but also a chair, a desk, a computer, power, square footage, coffee in the kitchen etc. By using remote workers and contractors, you?ll save money and maybe not even need a huge office. They?ll even pay for their own coffee!

15. Learn to Delegate!

?Work on your business, not in it!? If you are a manager, you should be spending at least 80% of your time working on growing, systemizing, trimming, and strategic planning. Are you spending too much time on menial tasks and grunt work that can be delegated? If so, learn to delegate (or use contractors) as this will free your time to concentrate on the big picture ? ?Growing your business and making it profitable!?

Julian Stone -

Author Bio
By Julian Stone ? <a

Day traders often seek out stories of people who have had amazing success in the markets for guidance. They flock to biographies of financial celebrities hoping to gain insight and tips to get an edge on their own careers. One such celebrity, Warren Buffet, is often seen as a role model, and a recently released book on him, The Snowball: Warren Buffet and the Business of Life, will no doubt increase his influence. But while Buffet has plenty to teach us about investing, his lessons are less applicable to day traders because of the kind of investing strategies that he uses. Iâ??m not at all discounting Buffetâ??s success, but I do want to stress that traders need to understand the difference between the strategies that will work for them and Buffetâ??s kind of investing.

Warren Buffet is, of course, a legend. Before he gave almost his entire fortune to charity, he was the richest man in the entire world. In 1962, when he began buying stock in Berkshire Hathaway, a single share cost $7.50. Today, Buffet is Berkshireâ?? chairman and CEO, and one â??Class Aâ?? stock is worth more than $118,000.

Buffet is doubtless a financial genius, and many try to follow his advice to become rich. But you need to understand that he is not a stock trader. His investments are not in stocks. Instead he invests in companies.

Buffet has tried to make this clear himself. As he once said, â??If, when making a stock investment, youâ??re not considering holding it at least ten years, donâ??t waste more than ten minutes considering it.â?? He has also

said, â??shares are not mere pieces of paper. They represent part ownership of a business. So, when contemplating an investment, think like a prospective owner.â?? Based on these principles, he developed what he calls the Inner Scorecard, according to which he invests in â??wonderful businessesâ?? that fulfill, amongst others, the following criteria:

â?¢	They have a good return on capital without a lot of debt.

â?¢	They are understandable.

â?¢	They see their profits in cash flow.

â?¢	They have strong franchises and, therefore, freedom to price.

â?¢	They donâ??t take a genius to run.

â?¢	Their earnings are predictable.

â?¢	The management is owner-oriented.

But Buffet goes even further, looking for â??subjectiveâ?? clues to a companyâ??s long term profitability. For example, it is said that once he purchased a company whose owner counted the sheets on the rolls of 500-sheet toilet paper to see if he was being cheated. (It turns out that he was.) Or, in another case, Buffet considered investing in a company whose owner painted only the side of the building facing the street in order to save money. And, in 1983, Buffet acquired the Nebraska Furniture Mart because he liked the way its founder, Rose Blumkin, did business: as a Russian immigrant, her strategy was to undersell the big shots, and she was a merciless negotiator.

Thereâ??s a clear pattern here. Before Buffet invests in a company, his team analyzes everything: the financial data, the management (including their biographies and sometimes even their personal spending habits), the companyâ??s vision, mission and principles, the human resource policy, and much more. Then he buys enough shares to actively influence and change the companyâ??s strategies and policies. As he said â??Shares represent part ownership of a business,â?? and he acts on that idea once he is invested in a business.

Warren Buffet may well be the worldâ??s greatest investor. He buys and sells businesses, and he uses the companyâ??s shares to buy himself part ownership of a business. But Buffet is not a trader, and his strategies for success are completely different from those that make money for day traders. He does not analyze market trends, looking for movements. Instead, he looks at a companyâ??s fundamentals and decides whether he thinks that company can grow over the long term. Itâ??s important to keep this distinction in mind if you want to make money in the market. A day trader may well admire Warren Buffet, but he will have to look elsewhere for a model.

Markus Heitkoetter is the author of the international bestseller “The Complete Guide To Day Trading” and a professional day trading coach. Often, we don’t pay much thought to them until there is a difficult. When the kidney malfunctions, you will definitely know it. We’ve all heard tales of excruciating kidney sand or a dire kidney infection, which, if left coarse, can direct into sepsis that pervades the body and origin substantial mischief.

To keep your kidneys functioning as they should, contain a few management tips in your shape tedious. It won’t take much time or power to add these tips to your lifestyle, and the suborn may help to keep you off dialysis in preventing kidney breakdown later in life.

Drink much fluids. We’ve all heard that drinking eight to ten glasses of water each day promotes better shape, but do you know why? Imagine a riverbed that, due to a famine, sinks to low levels and even exposes opaque areas in acne. Debris like tree limbs, large stones, and even flailing fish can be seen hovering in the dull rivulet and perhaps sticking to the banks in demise around bends. Then presume a tank with low water levels. It may look dry, dirty, or shallow, with many things bobbing on the plane that otherwise might be agreed off downstream. This grim picture is a picture of your bloodstream and kidneys when you don’t drink enough fluids. Although the kidneys act as more of a filter than a reservoir, toxins can assemble up if there isn’t enough water heaviness to make them through to the urinary pamphlet for excretion<div

While a team of cups of tea or auburn, and a little bit of chocolate, may not be bad for most people, don’t get hooked on drinking multiple cups of caffeine beverages each day. Your kidneys will be mandatory to work harder and pump out fluid and toxins when they become dehydrated by caffeine’s removal achieve and more active by its metabolism-boosting powers. If you find that you are urinating the period a day more than you used to, try sharp back on caffeine harvest to see if that helps. Too much caffeine isn’t good for your body in many ways, and kidney stress is one of them.

Cut back on bumpy path rides. Long-aloofness truck drivers may have a senior incidence of kidney bruising or spoil than people in other occupations. Until the likely relate is definite or disproved, try to take long rides in comfortable seats, and stay for common breaks to get out of the vehicle and stretch your legs, which will be good for your back as well as your kidneys and other organs. Eat cleansing foods. Some experts judge that claret juice helps to lower bacteria in the urinary tract by trust it from sticking to tissues where it can figure up and affect an infection. A few glasses of this refreshing cocktail each week might be enough to promote better kidney strength. Some practitioners call that colorless rice is a good food for cleansing the body.

If you suffer from Rosacea then managing the condition and reducing the number of flare-ups you have is crucial. What causes a flare-up for one person may not have any effect on another. Rosacea triggers are highly individual ? the key is to get to know what yours are and try to avoid them.

Taking action to stay in control can be a big factor in avoiding stress and feeling better about yourself. You may even find that with self-management and over the counter skin care you can stay out of the dermatologist’s clinic for good.

Start now to take back control with these ten practical tips for Rosacea care:

1. Keep a diary

Not just any old diary but a log of your flare-ups. Note down the time, day, what you were doing or what you had eaten, how you felt, whether you had taken exercise, what you had been drinking. You can get a free simple diary system for your computer if you prefer to keep your log electronically. Reviewing your Rosacea diary will provide important clues to what causes your own particular flare-ups.

2. Control your stress levels.

Wherever possible avoid stressful situations. When you are under stress your body releases stress hormones into your bloodstream and there are physical changes which can result ? for some people ? in a flare-up. Anger, embarrassment or fear can all result in a flushing response which can trigger a flare-up. Try to manage situations so that you are able to stay calm or withdraw before you get stressed.

3. Get plenty of sleep

Your body needs a full 8 hours to<div

Wind down at the end of a day; take a relaxing bath or shower and make your bedroom a calm relaxing haven to fall asleep in.

4. Learn to identify and avoid vascular dilators.

Vascular dilators are substances which cause a flushing response and should be avoided. Common vascular dilators include stimulants like: coffee, tea, cigarettes and excessive sugary soda drinks. If you think about it ? anything we depend on to stimulate the brain can also easily stimulate your sebaceous glands and raise your stress levels ? neither of which is what you want.

5. Stay away from Aspartame or NutraSweet

Aspartame and NutraSweet are common sweeteners in many popular drinks and both have been found to cause substantial redness in around a third of all Rosacea sufferers. Hydrate by drinking at least 2 liters of water a day. Drink iced water in hot conditions to keep your body temperature low and stave off the flushing response.

6. Create your own chill-out zone

If you are going somewhere you know you will be hot ? take a small insulated picnic box with your iced water and some chilled flannels. If you feel yourself getting hot and flushed ? apply a cold flannel to the back of your neck and drink your iced water.

7. Get enough exercise.

Physical exercise releases endorphins ? natures feel good hormone – which will help you to deal with stress. Make sure you manage your body temperature and avoid too much flushing when you exercise as this can trigger a flare-up.

8. Manage your weight

Excess weight puts a heavier load on the cardio-vascular system and will result in greater vascular dilation, flushing, sweating and skin redness.

9. Avoid extremes of heat and cold

Whether inside or outside. Extreme temperatures cause changes in the body which can provoke a flare-up. Both the sun and the cold are damaging to the skin which will make the symptoms of Rosacea much worse. Wear a good sunscreen with a high factor broad spectrum sunblock and cover up in the sun. Withdraw indoors in conditions of extreme cold.

10. Watch what you eat ? literally!

Most Rosacea sufferers find that certain foods act as triggers for flare-ups. There are some foods that commonly cause a flare-up in a majority of sufferers but everyone is unique. Monitor what you eat over a six month period and you will discover the foods that are your personal triggers and you can eliminate them from your diet.

Eileen Gravelle

Author Bio
Rosacea is a skin condition affecting some 14 million Americans – mostly women in the 30-65 age bracket. After working his way up from a contracted construction employee eight years ago, he had come on full time as an assistant in the power plant, where he gained a wealth of knowledge before jumping up to head tech down in the plant. After five years, he made it all the way up to senior technician of the entire plant ops division and now he had stepped up again, and right into building management .

With this title, Jacob carried much more weight, along with the added responsibility of managing not one, but all ten of the buildings within the hospital complex. If the responsibilities of the buildings themselves were not enough, effectively managing the individuals whose jobs it was to keep things running smoothly was more of a stretch. Jacob was good with people, and he had a friendly personality. For the most part, he felt that he was fair and patient.

However, he had already been witness to some of the employees taking shortcuts and attempting to get paid for doing less work, on the hospitals dime. This building management position required him to adhere to strict budgetary policies. He could not afford to let the guys simply sit around and watch television in the break room for three hours under the guise of fixing a broken bed.

Jacob knew that his new position might not sit well with some of the long standing employees, but he also<div

His responsibilities required him to insure that the entire hospital complex was well maintained, secure, clean and well furnished. Any furniture coming into the complex needed to be run by him. It was his job to keep tabs on any and all construction, repairs, painting and upgrades of the physical structures of the hospital. It almost seemed like too much for one man to handle, but he felt confident in his abilities to manage the people on his crews.

At home that evening, Jacob pulled out a big piece of mahogany wood that he had been working on and set out carving delicate animal faces along the side of it. Jacob was an experienced carpenter with a passion for woodcarving, a hobby that he took seriously on his off time. After graduating high school, he apprenticed with a master wood carver before going to college and earning his Bachelors, learning the tips and tricks from his woodcarving master that only a seasoned artist can pass on. Jacobs detailed carvings had been sold a few times, but he was not in it for the money. The piece that he was currently working on was a gift for his Aunt and Uncle who were soon celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Woodcarving gave him the peace that his excited mind had been longing for. He knew that the building management title would be a good experience for him, but as he lost himself in the tiny details of a great black bears fur, he allowed himself just to sit with the idea that every thing in his life had fallen perfectly into place, and he freed himself from the stress and worry that had been eating him up all afternoon.

Self-Storage-Owner

Author Bio
The original article is located at <a
