Nothing I did seemed to work, then one day the man I consider my mentor invited me to some local homebrew Joint. An unusual place for minors, but I did learn a very important lesson on how to get rid of stress.</p><p>Upon arriving at the Joint, he showed me a group of people playing drums and dancing. To me it was just a bunch of drunken people singing and dancing to the rhythm. He pointed at them without saying a word, &#8220;there is the trick&#8221; he said after a long pause. &#8220;What?&#8230; getting drunk?&#8230;&#8221; I asked. Is that all you see?? he asked with a raised voice. &#8220;How many of people do you know from the dancing crowd?&#8221; he asked. I don&#8217;t know maybe 10 or 15&#8230; I said hesitantly. Why do you think they all came here?&#8230; this is a place where we feed on each others&#8217; energy. Tell you what?&#8230; go get on one of those drums play it for maybe 10 minutes and tell me how you feel after that, he said while he put his hand on my shoulder, giving me a little push.</p><p>I got on one of the smaller drums, played it for a while, the dancers where getting funnier and funnier, everybody seemed to be very excited. We laughed and played for maybe close to an hour, after an hour, my adrenaline was up, I went back to my mentor and told him I felt very good. Come again tomorrow you have had enough for the day&#8230; he said and then turned around to talk to his fellows.</p><p>At home my mother told me she relieves her stress by inviting other ladies in the village to do their basketry in a group. For some time I would watch them talk and laugh for hours while they did their basketry, In the end it seemed like they had killed two birds with one stone. They had produced some pretty baskets and everybody seemed to be happy even under difficult circumstances.</p><p>What can you do?</p><p>If you do sports, you probably know what I am talking about.
