Stress relief tips, although mildly helpful, usually lack significant impact. Why is that? The disappointing reality is that most people lack the discipline to consistently practice these tips.

We are lethargic. We do not focus. We have many distractions from family matters, business matters and social entanglements. Our lives become a never-ending “to do” list. A stress relieving exercise becomes another item on the list.

We may perform an exercise for a few days, then forget about it or simply quit doing it. Then subconsciously we start belittling ourselves. This self-criticism is what initially created the stress. As this cycle continues stress increases. Life continues to become more challenging.

We decide that we need to give up doing stress relieving exercises.

That would be an error. The solution is to perform the right strategy in the right way. The exercises need to result in an automatic relaxation of both the body and the mind. In doing these exercises, you must receive short-term and long-term benefits.

Short-term benefits would consist of relaxation, mental clarity, and a sense of release and comfort. Long-term benefits ought to include internal power, release of restrictive beliefs and profound assurance in your own abilities to cope with life.

Often stress relief tips tell you to relax, this boosts your stress level because it is so apparent.

Naturally we would relax, if we only knew how. But our minds are obsessed with our current circumstances and relaxation becomes a luxury we can’t afford. What would drive us to change our situation if we would relax now? We think that we slack to much anyway. This isn’t the proper time to relax.

Research is showing that the undesirable situations developed because stressed-out minds made poor decisions. We need inspired, creative thinking to alter our life’s condition.

Once more, we must find a particular exercise and do it a specific way.

When we deride ourselves, our minds become irritated and annoyed. In conjunction with relaxing we should discharge harmful beliefs regarding ourselves and substitute them with self compassion. We should forgive and accept ourselves.

Many people say that the negative issues in our life are only an facade and what’s authentic is the positive. Often, this leads to avoidance behaviors that do not serve us well. When we escape our “stuff”, the result is always more stress.

But when completed properly, stating the negative issue or emotion and holding it steadfastly in your consciousness will release the hold these things have on you. Then install a script in your mind of loving and forgiving ideas and this will relieve the stress.

The correct procedure for this to be effective will take some research and learning. But stress relief tips that are full of fluff won’t relieve your stress. Look for a tool you can pull out and use anytime stress reaches an undesirable level.

And always remember that the most consistent thing in life is change. Circumstances will change. Get ready to positively effect all negative situations by using tested, powerful procedures.

Laziness has now lost its grip and you are aligned with the power to overcome stress.

Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand. It can be caused by both good and bad experiences. When people feel stressed by something going on around them, their bodies react by releasing chemicals into the blood. These chemicals give people more energy and strength, which can be a good thing if their stress is caused by physical danger. But this can also be a bad thing, if their stress is in response to something emotional and there is no outlet for this extra energy and strength.

Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world. Common stress reactions include tension, irritability, inability to concentrate, and a variety of physical symptoms that include headache and a fast heartbeat.

It’s almost impossible to live without some stress. And most of us wouldn’t want to, because it gives life some spice and excitement. But if stress gets out of control, it may harm your health, your relationships, and your enjoyment of life.

Major life events or changes are the greatest contributors of stress in most people. These events place the highest demands on resources for coping. On most life stress evaluation tools, the top ten stressors in life are

• Death of a spouse

• Divorce

• Marital Separation

• Jail Term

• Death of a Close Family Member

• Personal Injury or Illness

• Marriage

• Loss of Job

• Marital Reconciliation

• Retirement

Stress Relief Tips: -

• Drink water: Drinking lots of water can reduce stress. It also forces you to go to the bathroom, which is a sort of break. Fill up a good-sized bottle and drink all day long.

• Comedy night: get in your favorite nibbles: chips, tortillas, salsa, crackers, cheese, pizza, chocolate, cookies, ice cream etc. Crack opens a bottle of wine or pours you a beer or two and spends a full evening watching your favorite funny films or comedians. Finding stress relief through laughter will raise your spirits and is a great antidote to the pressures of modern life.

• Exercise: Exercise is one of the best ways to relieve stress. A daily jog or walk or swim or bike works well.

• But there are key differences, at least psychologically. The skier is exhilarated, ready for the challenge, and eager to show his prowess and win the contest. The senior feels doubt and fear.

• Lose weight: Easier said than done, but being overweight is a major source of stress. Eat healthier, gradually, and add some exercise to your life to lose the excess pounds gradually.

Ashwagandha – Natural Stress Relief: –

Ashvagandha in Sanskrit means “smelling like a horse “, probably originating from the odor of its fresh root which resembles that of a sweaty horse. Ashvagandha is a well known anti-stress herb. Ashwagandha manufactured by the Himalaya Drug Company works as an adaptive, promoting the body’s capability to preserve homeostasis and defy stress. It reduces imbalances that may lead to disease, whether from poor diet, lack of sleep, mental or physical strain, or chemical toxins in the environment.

Whether you love your job, or hate it, you are bound to have days when things seem to get on top of you. Stress at work is one of the commonest forms of stress and can be caused by one particular thing, or a combination of things. Whenever you feel stressed out at your work place, follow these tips for work stress relief. These little tips will help to reduce immediate feelings of stress and help to prevent you from taking it out someone else, which will just cause more problems!

Tip #1

Take time out. If you are feeling overwhelmed, can’t solve a problem or feel like you’re about to explode, get yourself away from your desk, and preferably the building and go for a brisk, short walk.

Often when things are getting on top of us what we need is to get away from the problem and get some perspective. Getting out into the open and focussing on something completely different can really help to get yourself out of that “hamster wheel” feeling that you’re trapped in a situation that you have no control over.

Take notice of the things around you. Smell the roses (or whatever other flowers are available!), notice the trees or the traffic, interact with someone, buy a bar of chocolate – anything that will get you focussed on the things around you instead of the stuff churning round in your head. When you get back to your desk, your brain will feel refreshed and more able to deal objectively with the task in hand.

Tip #2

Drink More Water. What many people tend to do when they feel stressed is to reach for the diet coke or the coffee machine. In fact, these are the worst types of drink you can take for stress! The high caffeine levels in coffee, and the sugar and other chemicals in soda drinks, will not only make you feel more “hyped up” and stressed, but will dehydrate you and that will result in low performance levels, so causing more stress.

Keep coffee to a limit of one or two a day, and the rest of the time drink water. Keep a bottle of mineral water on your desk, or take a drink every time you pass the water cooler.

When your body is properly hydrated your brain will function better and you will feel more able to cope with the every day tasks and stressors at work.

Tip #3

Smile. Or better still, laugh. Sometimes we can lose our perspective on life and take things a little too seriously. This makes us feel more stressed than we need to be. Try to see the humour in everything and take yourself lightly.

Share a joke with a colleague and make yourself laugh. Laughter is an extremely healthy way of de-stressing and it actually creates the “feel good” hormones in your body called endorphines. These create a feeling of welbeing and relieve stress levels.

After a good laugh, you will often find that the things that were bothering you beforehand do not seem half as bothersome as you thought they were.

Tip #4

Get enough sleep. It really is not worth sitting up all night trying to get a job done. Sleep deprivation will make you work slower and ineffectively, and you will therefore get less done than if you were more alert and refreshed.

Sleep recharges our batteries and while we sleep our brains work to resolve problems and issues. Getting enough sleep every night is extremely important.

If you are having difficulty sleeping at night, and this is affecting your work and stress levels, try some natural remedies such as valerian tea or tablets, a massage with lavender oil.

Also, before going to bed every night, make sure you have written down all the things that are bothering you that need to be seen to the next day. This will prevent them from keeping you awake.

Tip #5

Prioritise. Unless you sort all the jobs you have to do into order of importance, you will feel very overwhelmed by the amount you have to do.

Create a schedule for yourself every day and make sure you do the most urgent jobs first, before concentrating on the slightly less important jobs and then at the end of every day, decide your schedule for the next day – and make sure it is achievable and realistic. If you are setting yourself too much to do every day, this will lead to more stress. If your schedule is realistic, then you are more likely to achieve them, and this will make you feel more confident and calm.

Of course, sometimes stress at work goes much deeper and needs more serious remedies than the above. But for day to day stress and anxiety, the above work stress relief tips will really help you to cope on a daily basis – and you will then be more equipped to deal with any serious issues that turn up.

Arthritis is the name given to a group of related diseases, which include osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis), rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus and fibromyalgia. In its various forms, arthritis affects the young and old, both sexes and all races. Although there are over 100 kinds of arthritis, they share one thing: they all rob otherwise healthy people of their quality of life by making even the simplest of movements painful. This pain is caused by inflammation of the lining of the body’s joints.

How do we treat the illness that affects so many people? On answer is with drugs, such as the “NSAIDs.”

Pronounced “ensayds,” these drugs help reduce pain and swelling in the joints while decreasing stiffness. When taking a low dose, NSAIDs control pain, but higher doses are required to reduce inflammation. The problem with NSAIDs is their side effects. Taking more than one NSAID at a time increases the possibility of heartburn and severe side effects such as ulcers and bleeding. NSAIDs inhibit the blood’s ability to clot properly and may therefore interact with blood-thinning medications such as coumadin. In addition, kidney disease is considered as a side effect. While the over the counter alternatives are safer, they often need to have other remedies used as well to achieve arthritis pain relief.

However, when the NSAIDs do not work, there are other things, less orthodox, to try. Here are a few tips, for arthritis relief.

1. Exercise is a great option at your disposal when looking for natural alternatives for your arthritis pain relief. Walking is especially good; it is easy to do and does not put too much unneeded pressure on the joints. Other forms of exercises that are especially good for arthritis sufferers are balancing types of movements, such as Tia Chi and water walking. While these activities can help build muscle strength, they may cause some discomfort in the joints. If this happens, stop the exercise, if the pain persists more than a couple of days speak with your physician.

2. Rest. As important as exercise is, rest is at least as critical when it comes to arthritis pain control. It is particularly important that you pay attention to your symptoms. If your joints are inflamed and sore, take it easy. Your doctor might advise you to continue range-of-motion exercises, but do not tire yourself.

3. Losing weight is another great way to find some relief from your arthritis pain. That happens because ten extra pounds adds thirty pounds of stress to the knees. Therefore, losing extra weight will be very effective for arthritis pain relief.

4. Heat / cold. Using ice packs can reduce acute pain while heat loosens joints and increases blood flow. Try sitting in a whirlpool before exercising and icing an irritated spot after exercising to provide soothing relief.

5. Researching and using any product that will make your daily life easier, will also indirectly help ease the pain associated with arthritis, reduce discomfort and disability, and, at the same time, reduce your dependence upon others. For example, using a shower seat will allow you to shower without much of the pain that can result from extended period of time standing, or the Foot Funnel, a modern day type of shoehorn, is an assistive device that is been recommended if you have difficulty putting on your shoes. Other helpful examples include cervical pillows, custom-made foot orthotics and canes.

Put these tips into action and you should get at least some relief from the pain of arthritis.

Research has show recently that more and more people are suffering from work pressure and job stress. In fact, workplace stress is on the rise. In the United States, experts at the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health have found that: Stress is linked to one’s physical and mental health and also one’s decreased willingness to take on new and creative endeavours. In addition, 25 per cent to 40 per cent of US workers that experience job burnout is due to workplace stress.

More than ever, it is believed that employees stress will cause a major drain on corporate productivity and competitiveness. Not to mention that, depression, which is predicted to be the leading occupational disease of the 21st century, is also one of the causes for more days lost than any other single factor or aspect. In fact, nearly US$300 billion or US$7,500 per employee, is spent every year in the US on stress-related compensation claims, reduced productivity, absenteeism, health insurance costs, direct medical expenses…etc.

The bad news is that workplace stress is becoming more prevalent as time goes by and workplace stress is a worldwide phenomenon. Statistics from the most recent global stress research study has shown that stress is increasing worldwide and both Western and Eastern countries are going to suffer from depression, anxiety and stress more easily.

There are numerous good benefits for the company if it is able to reduce stress in the workplace for their employees. By reducing stress in the corporate workplace, there will be reduced medical expenses and downtime caused by absenteeism. In addition, by enforcing a stress-free environment in the workplace, there will be a more motivated workforce, higher creativity and innovativeness, higher productivity and so on.

Nonetheless, one can never escape from pressure at work altogether, hence you need to learn how to manage stress effectively. The good news is that, there are a number of natural stress reduction techniques and stress management techniques that you can reduce the negative impacts of stress.

Most of these ways to mange stress depends very much on how you function at work. So what can you do to reduce workplace stress and job stress? The following are some good and helpful suggestions:

Discover a more efficient and effective way to execute the tasks you do to achieve the same result. Learn to manage your time more effectively. Try to prioritise your tasks and duties, involve with things that you can do and avoid taking on more work than you can handle. Try to take regular breaks intervally while at work: Go to the washroom to wash your face or take a drink at the pantry. And try to complete on task before you begin another. Make sure that your company is offering a work environment that is comfortable and ergonomical. If it isn’t, you can simply ask for assistant from your organisation’s health and safety officer. If you can, you should make sure that you get 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep regularly. I know that sometimes work projects can take out your extra time and you may have to work longer hours over many weeks or months. However, this will only lead you to diminishing work performance, fatigue, insomnia and eventually stress or even depression. Most importantly, you need to build a good and amicable relationship with your colleagues and co-workers. These are people who you spend most of your time with while at work. Hence, it is important that we build good relationships and enjoy our time at work. Find a purpose to the work that you do. Personally speaking, the road to happiness actually lies in your life passion: Discover what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it, put your whole soul into it.

The following are addition ideas on how to help you reduce your stress levels:

Exercise Regularly - Exercise is proven and known to help reduce stress effectively. In fact, exercising regularly helps to you to produce more serotonin which is the neurotransmitter for your sense of well-being and happiness. Serotonin also helps to keep our moods under control by helping with sleep, calming anxiety and relieving depression. Do at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. A brisk walk or a swim is ideal.

Learn Relaxation Technique – Learn how to do relaxation technique yourself by calming your body, mind and soul. Relaxation technique helps you to sleep better and relieve stress-related phsical pains such as stomach pains and tension headaches.

Tell Others Your Problems – Do not hid your problems. Simply let it out by sharing your problems with your loved ones or friends. By telling other people about your problems, it can help you to manage stressful situation more effectively and give you a fresh perspective.

Avoid Bad Habits – Avoid drinking too much alcohol or caffeine and cut down on smoking. Instead of helping you, these stimulants will increase your stress levels.

Eat Healthily - Always watch what you eat and have a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Think Of The Positives – At the end of the day, always think of things and work that you have achieve and done. Focus less on unfinished tasks and duties. Do not be too hard on yourself and take things in its stride.
