Parenting does not constantly have to be a demanding job. There are ways to take care of your kids after consistently getting warn out. Here is a list of approachs that a person can use to help administer their daily problems and anxieties while pleasing the kids.

Share the tasks of being a parent with your better half. Do not try to do everything all at once. If you and your better half can learn to work as one then parenting will not be as difficult. Your stress will come down when you share the tasks in looking after the kids.

Many times we get dumbfounded with many irregular tasks that we face. When this occurs, a person should be obliged to stop what they are doing and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the dilemma. A person could take a walk, read a book, or watch some TV to get their mind off of their dilemmas. This will help you to refocus on your situation.

Do not put off tomorrow what you can do today. Concerns have a habit to build up if you keep adjourning them. Do what you can do today. If you have to help your kids with a college activity, then try to get going today instead of dawdling till the end of the week. When the end of the week comes, you will feel exeptional that you got going in this differentiating task.

Learn to pace yourself. Don’t do too much seeing as you will get burned out. Parenting is hard work! A person can only do so much in a individual day. Stay disciplined and don’t do everything all at once. This will help you to administer your stress.

<div

Having the day off to go to the beach or to go to the shopping mall will help you to relax. Let your guardian or better half take care of the kids for part of the day.

Being a parent does not have to be that difficult. Finding ways to cope with your stresses will help you to enjoy parenting and enticing of the kids. We structured our life so that when the sun came up we rose up and when the sun went down we went to sleep. In today’s modern world we are oblivious to nature and its surroundings.

In addition to loosing touch with nature, many of us are loosing many connections with people, in old times people used to spend their lifetime in one location with the same people, now we move from place to place, cutting ties with our friends and family. We have no idea how much damage stress causes to the quality of our lives, depletes our love for ourselves and others.

It has been estimated that more than seventy percent of visits to the doctor are stress related, over fifty percent of work related accidents are the result of overwhelming stress. The good news is that even though we are overwhelmed with cumulative stress our systems have the ability to recover and protect us from furthering our stresses.

This power comes from the ability to make a conscious choice to change the way we live every day, if you learn to relax and nurture your social, spiritual and physical needs you can alter your life for the better. So if you make the decision that you will not succumb to the negative side effects of stress you are on the road to living a more fulfilling life. You can begin to beat stress by not working so hard all the time and learn to rest, talk to a friend that you haven’t talked to in a while or even maybe<div

How does stress affect your overall health? Here are 3 ways how…

Stress suppresses the functions of your immune system

Think back how many times you called in sick at work during the last 2 months…or the last time you got a bad case of cold? Did you get it right after the holidays?

I know a lot of people who were down with the sniffles a week after the holidays. The holidays brought with it not only fun but also stress….stress over the menu, or the gifts you bought for everyone, or the number of people you had to invite for dinner.

Stress can truly depress your immune system. According to studies done by the National Cancer Institute, a stressor — such as death of your spouse, money worry, or having a dysfunctional family — alters how the immune system does its job.

Being stressed all the time hinders your immune cells – both B and T cells – from fully functioning. Your immune cells become weak. They are unable to actively fight viruses and bacteria from attacking your body. Then you get sick with the flu, or the cold.

What is worse is…stress can affect your overall health by encouraging the development of cancer. How? Too much stress can turn off the ability of your immune system…

to repair, or

to destroy abnormal cells that your DNA is unable to.

Stress makes your body produce a large amount of stress hormones

Frequent contact with and inability to manage a stressor also makes your body rel

ease an unusually higher amount of a stress hormone called cortisol.

Why is a large amount of cortisol harmful?

Again, according to the National Cancer Institute, large amounts of cortisol in the body can directly change vital processes in your cells — such as regulation of cell growth and DNA repair. Both these processes are necessary in preventing cancer.

More hormones will also mean bad news for hormone-related cancers such as breast, prostate and colon. And here is another piece of bad news: This is just one of the many dangers of too much cortisol inside your body.

Stress leads you to make unhealthy lifestyle choices

When you are under so much stress and unable to manage it, you tend to eat more than what your body needs, or choose junk foods that have zero nutrition. You may also start smoking or drinking heavily.

All these unhealthy choices encourage inflammation inside your body. Inflammation has been found to be the root cause not only of cancer but of almost all diseases such as diabetes, heart illnesses, or arthritis.

Besides encouraging inflammation, unhealthy acidic foods, tobacco and alcohol all have a dampening effect on your immune system. They all then become part of a vicious cycle.

How else can stress affect your overall health? A lot more.

Stress is one of the major causes of under achievement in life. It prevents us from transforming our full potential into success but first let us examine the meaning of the word ‘potential‘. A typical dictionary definition is;

‘Possible but as yet not actual; latent; that may be manifested’.

In other words something that exists but has not yet manifested itself, which is quite appropriate when applied to human beings!

The laws of physics state that everything has a tendency to degenerate from a condition of order to one of chaos. The human being, however, is a contradiction and there is hardly an area of human endeavour that does not undergo continuous progress; science, medicine and sport to name but a few. Humans are continually expressing their potential by turning their latent possibilities into reality.

Although history has shown that humans are limitless in their ability to innovate and achieve, they also have the tendency to wilfully doubt their potential and place barriers in the way of their progress. How many times have you given up on something saying “I can’t do this” and then regretted it afterwards knowing that with a little more application you could have succeeded?

The ability to transform potential into reality is influenced by only one factor. Belief! Unfortunately in most cases this has become a belief in an inability to achieve despite the lessons of history.

A typical dictionary definition of the word is;

For example, prior to the 197
<img

In other words they all had a belief in their inability to do so. During the Games, the Russian weightlifter, Vasily Alexeyev, was preparing for his final lift, which if successful would win him the gold medal. His trainers told him he would be lifting 499lbs, which he believed was possible and he promptly lifted it to win. Afterwards they showed him that he had actually lifted 501lbs.

Within only a few months of the Games he was regularly lifting over 560lbs and most of the world’s leading lifters had broken the previously ‘impossible’ 500lbs ‘barrier’.

He proved that the only factor previously limiting his performance was his belief in his inability and not his muscular strength. Once he discovered this, his belief system changed from that of being limited to one of having unlimited potential.

So where do these beliefs in our inability come from?

It is a complicated and subtle process that starts early in childhood. How often have you heard the following from parents, teachers and friends;

“Don’t be silly. You will never be able to do that”.

“Let me do it for you. It’s too difficult, too hard, too far etc. Try something easier”.

“Are you sure you can really do this”?

And so on resulting in our perceptions of our abilities in our formative years becoming slanted. One limitation after another becomes an internal reality until we are finally entrenched with a belief system that says, “I am a human being therefore I am limited“.

Yet everybody, with very few exceptions, was born with willpower, imagination, intellect, desire and the capacity for action, all of which allow us to give expression to our potential and achieve at a high level. It is the loss of one or more of these qualities that leads us to become limited. The challenge is to undo these limitations as they are only perceptions that have been imposed either by oneself or by others.

Let’s take an example of how this can affect you later in life.

Let’s assume you are a salesperson and regularly reach your target of selling 100 units a month but your company management suddenly decides that your target should be increased to 120 units a month. Unfortunately you have also become a limited person and can’t exercise any creative abilities or use your imagination to form new ideas. Logic prevails! “Nobody has ever sold this amount before so I’m not going to be able to do it. It’s impossible” you complain.

However, the only barrier to achieving your new target is your own negative perceptions. You believe that you do not have the ability to cope with the demands being placed on you with the result that you suffer anxiety about your performance. And performance anxiety is plain and simply stress, invariably accompanied by a lowering of your self-concept and self-confidence, which in turn will increase your stress levels, probably resulting in a reduction of present performance.

The barrier to reducing stress levels and achieving your full potential is your own false belief in your own inability to perform. The secret is to control the traffic on the two way street. Control the external reality on your own terms and unleash your own resources and impose them on it.

This is a subject that I hope to write more about in further articles.

Mike Walker is the originator and author of The Stress Blaster Programme, which examines stress from a new pespective and allows users to identify their own, unique stressors through a series of assessments and provides sophisticated tools to overcome them quickly, easily and permanently. You have tried yoga, art of living, massages etc., but not getting long lasting results?? Do you blame your heavy workload, your marriage, neighbors, colleagues for your high blood pressure and weak heart?

Well, for a moment think about this, may be you are responsible for your stressed lifestyle. May be your anger is responsible for half of your diseases. Many of us are not happy with our current job or boss or co-workers and this frustration is being released on our family. In some cases vise-versa may also occur. And most of us have this feeling that our personal life and carrier should not be mixed into each other. For this reason we do not let our anger come out. We cannot shout at our boss and it’s not fair to shout at our wives or innocent children, so we keep quiet. But what happens to our anger and rage? Well, it remains within and keeps our brain and heart busy unnecessarily. After some time we don’t even realize that why we are so stressed and why can’t we get relaxed. The reason is, we meet the source of our anger daily so it keeps us thinking about it whenever the source comes in front of us. I am not saying that we should start yelling to get relaxed. But what we can do is – avoid this anger. Believe me if you can hold on your anger for just 60 seconds, you will find that it wasn’t that big issue to get angry. After all human beings do mistakes, your boss, your wife, children, colleagues, they<div

What you should think that does it really matter that much. If you really think that you get angry very often and it is not good for your health, family, career and friends, here are some simple ways to avoid the instant of rage.

Start counting to ten. This is very old trick and most of you may find it useless. So a recent change is that you think about your favorite food item after every count. That is instead of 1..2..3..4… You may do it like 1 ice-cream..2 ice-cream..3 ice-cream.. This will surely help if you take it a little seriously.

Ask yourself a question- ‘Will it really matter after two days?’ Most of the time you will find the answer as no.

If you realize after some time that the person you scolded was actually not responsible for your anger, just go to the person, say sorry and confess why you were angry. This way you will be guilty and free at the same time. And after a few times of this exercise you will naturally avoid your rage so that you may not have to say sorry to someone again.

Read and learn more about the consequences of too much anger on your health in detail. You will find that how dangerous it gets with age for your heart, brain, skin and muscles. The more you will know about the extreme consequences like heart attack, brain hemorrhage, high blood pressure, early aging, obesity etc., more you will naturally tend to avoid it.

You cannot change your whole life, you cannot change the people around you. What you can change is yourself. Avoiding anger takes much less of energy then enraging in anger, so try it out. May be people around you will notice you and try to change themselves to suit your calmness and happiness.

I am a mechanical engineer by profession, and passionate about writing.
