Stress is something everyone experiences from time to time. However, that doesn’t mean that you should live with it. Instead, as it poses a lot of risks to your health, stress management is highly important for you to pay attention to.

Fortunately, with the continuous popularity this condition has managed to attract to itself these previous years, you can now have a better understanding of the importance of dealing with stress. With proper techniques and tips, you can really preserve your heath and prevent yourself from getting inflicted with certain ailments and illnesses that can be fatal if not dealt with accordingly.

You might be thinking, what are the ways for a proper health stress management? Here are some examples:

1. Understand stress. Like most other health problems, education can help a lot in dealing and getting rid of this condition. If you know the important things about stress, then you need not worry about handling it.

2. Do not get stressed about stress. Some people beat themselves up too much because they are pressured and anxious over being stressed. Now, you should not fall into this pit, because doing this does not help at all and only makes matters worse.

3. Find a release. One great health stress management technique is to have something that can help you release all the stress and anxiety cooped up inside you. It can be a hobby, any activity, or a good talk with a friend, as long as you do it positively.

4. Give yourself a break. Most stress cases involve people getting too tired of their<div

To deal with this, you can always give yourself a break. Go on a trip out of town or spend a day or two away from work or studies. This can help you feel more refreshed and relaxed the moment you come back.

5. Have a healthier lifestyle. Another great factor for stress is your lifestyle; this is why another health stress management tip is to have a healthier lifestyle. Try to eat a more balanced diet and try to make time for some exercise. By doing this, you can get your body to function better, becoming more equipped to drive away stress and its other complications.

Aside from these five, there are a lot of other heath stress management tips you can use to keep your body in top shape and free from stress. These are just the most basic that you can easily do on your own.

Eddy Wai KK is a certified behavioral consultant for more than 5 years and used to be a stress and anxiety sufferer.

What is it about stress and stress management that everybody has their panties up in a bunch about now-a-days? I mean do we really think that our society today is more stressed out than back in the days when people were dying right and left, eaten by large animals, starving, being shot with arrows, etc.? I mean you’ve got to be kidding me right? Well yes and no. The fact is that people who are stressed out by today’s standards have more life limiting diseases such as cancer and heart disease and these are also the same people who aren’t living as long. This is in comparison to the average person who doesn’t face any of the stresses like those mentioned above and the present day people that do.

So what the heck is going on? Well there has been a lot of research done on the nature of stress and the mechanisms that were designed by God in our bodies to deal with it. Most people have heard of the fight-or-flight response and this turns out to be a major mechanism that affects our health negatively. So what has changed? This mechanism is certainly been helpful to our ancestors as they dealt with stress–a life preserving rather than life limiting process. Well it turns out that the kind of stress that we face today turns this system on almost as well as the other more immediate life threats but our bodies don’t absorb it in the same way and so it goes unnaturally unchecked and takes its toll. We therefore need a different type of stress management than we were naturally getting by running away from the large beast tha
<img

It does things like check the increased heart rate and the high amounts of insulin and other hormones in our system, and it gives us natural mood enhancing substances (endorphins) which counter the stress response as well. Another aspect is the cognitive response to stress that needs to be addressed.

Partly or emotional and mental health is addressed by exercise but it also needs to be addressed in terms of some of the behaviors that we choose to dull rather than correct our unhealthy stress response. We need to find correct ways of thinking rather than use substances like alcohol, nicotine, and illicit drugs to mask our low moods. We need to train our minds to think positively. We need to find alternative activities and vents for our feelings like art and social release. We need to eat better and be out side more to get the natural anti-depressants that are found there and are much healthier. Only then will we be approaching stress management in a healthy and life extending way.

Trenton Martkes -

Author Bio
Trenton Martkes counsels professionally and has done lots of original research in the area of <a

It’s common sense that we all need to manage our stress. But, did you know that managing stress effectively is a matter of life and of health?

The Stress Response is a series of biochemical events in the human body designed to help a person respond to some sense of danger in the environment. This reaction is intended to help mobilize the body to respond to the danger through either Fight or Flight. While this response serves us well when we are in immediate danger (like when a car is coming straight at us and we need to get out of the way quickly), it has significant negative effects on health when it happens frequently and over a long period of time.

Prolonged exposure to the stress response creates and/or aggrevates many health conditions. Heart conditions, muscular pain, gastrointestinal illness, dysfunctions of the reproductive system, breathing difficulties, skin problems and immune system functions are all negatively impacted by chronic stress.

That’s the bad news….the good news is that active relaxation for a mere 10-15 minutes a day can reduce the negative impact of stress and create a positive Relaxation Response that will reduce blood pressure, slow breathing rate and increase blood flow to muscles (i.e. reduce muscular pain). Relaxation and meditation can also reduce the symptoms of pre-existing medical conditions, such as fatigue, depression, anxiety, and muscular pain.

Here’s an easy way to start increasing your relaxation today.

Do this exercise for 5 minutes 2-3 times througho

ut your day:

1. Select a comfortable sitting position.

2. Close your eyes and direct your attention to your own breathing process.

3. Put your thumb on your navel and lower the palm of your hand down onto your belly. Breathe into your nose as if you are smelling flowers. You will notice your belly rise as you breathe in. Breathe out as if you were blowing out birthday candles. You will notice your belly fall as you breathe out.

4. Focus on your breathing. Notice the cool air as it enters your nose and the warm air as it leaves your mouth. If thoughts come, notice them briefly and then redirect your attention to your breath. Imagine your thoughts floating away on a cloud and know that you can always get back to them later.

5. After 5 minutes, stand and stretch before proceeding with your day.

The take home message: We plan for every situation – we have a financial plan, a home emergency plan, a vacation plan, a health insurance plan – Make sure to have a self-care plan! If you plan to care for your health and manage your stress level now, you will save yourself much distress later.

Irina Kerzhnerman, PhD

Author Bio
Dr. Irina Kerzhnerman is a Licensed Psychologist in Deerfield Beach, FL.

There are significant links between stress and blood pressure. Being stressed leads to many problems and blood pressure is one of them. If you are suffering from high blood pressure then your knowledge about stress can make relevant differences in your cardiovascular health.

Physical response of body towards different events includes secretion of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Due to these hormones blood pressure causes your heart to beat faster and also blood vessels to constrict.

Stress occurs on account of many reasons like problems in adjustment between office and home and overload of work. If it persists for a long term then it is disastrous for health as it increases blood pressure. Once stress is relieved body pressure returns to its normal stage. Temporary spike in blood pressure may result in damaging your blood vessels, kidneys and heart. Upon that if you react to stress by smoking and drinking alcohol then your problem of blood pressure can become worse. If this combination persists together for long period of time then it increases your risk of stroke and heart attack.

You can fight against stress and blood pressure if you know how to manage your routine activities. Proper balance between daily activities provides you peace of mind and thus reduces stress leading to normal blood pressure. Here are below mentioned some ways to manage stress and blood pressure:

• You should make flexible schedule of routine activities. Hence schedule your time flexibly and follow it sincerely.

• Whenever you feel stress then relax and take high and deep breathe. It will relieve down your stress and blood pressure also gets normal with it.

• Consult your doctor for exercises which are beneficial in relieving stress and also keeps your blood pressure normal.
