While the manic phase of Bipolar Disorder is perhaps the most disturbing to those around the sufferer, it is actually the depressive phase of this disorder that is most dangerous to sufferers. During these phases, bleak emotions can even cause some people to become suicidal.

In order to help someone suffering from a depressive episode, it is important to recognize the signs that some suffering a phase of depression may be considering suicide. Along with knowing the signs of suicidal behavior, you should also know who to contact to help this person.

As stated earlier, it is important to recognize the signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Signs of a depressive episode include an enduring sad or empty mood, fatigue, changes in appetite and sleep, and a lack of motivation as well as feelings of guilt, anger and anxiety.

While these symptoms are uncomfortable for the sufferer, they are not necessarily dangerous. It is when these dark feelings brought on by Bipolar Depression give birth to thoughts of suicide they become dangerous.

Signs that someone is suffering or may be contemplating suicide include obvious signals such as the person talking about suicide or wanting to die.

Other signs perhaps known only to the person suffering from the depression include feeling as if they are a burden to family or friends, feeling as if their circumstances will never change or improve, or feeling that nothing they do is of any importance or makes a difference. The person contemplating suicide may turn to alcohol or drugs to help<div

Finally, the person may also put their affairs in order, as if they were preparing to die, or write suicide notes about their intentions and their feelings of emptiness.

If you suspect someone you know is considering suicide as the result of a bout of Bipolar Depression, there are some steps you can take to help stop the attempt. If you need immediate help, call the police, 911, or take the person to the nearest emergency room.

Be prepared to tell these people exactly what the problem is, what disorder the person suffers from and what, if any, medications they may be taking. You should also make sure the suicidal person is not left alone. Perhaps most important, be sure the person does not have access to any weapons or large amounts of medications.

Some people take the time to plan their suicide attempt carefully while some may think up their attempt on the spur of the moment. Either way, no suicide attempt should be taken lightly. With proper treatment and medication, the feelings of worthlessness and emptiness that come along can be relieved.

If you are on a doctor prescribed treatment regimen, stay on it. If not, your doctor and therapist can get you started on a plan that will help your life look more promising.

Riley Hendersen

Author Bio
For more information on bipolar, try visiting http://www.bipolardetails.com – a website that specializes in providing bipolar related tips and resources to include information on <a

The cause of bipolar disorder is not entirely known. Genetic, neuro-chemical and environmental factors probably interact at many levels to play a role in the onset and progression of bipolar disorder. The current thinking is that this is a predominantly biological disorder that occurs in a specific part of the brain and is due to a malfunction of the neurotransmitters (chemical messengers in the brain). As a biological disorder, it may lie dormant and be activated spontaneously or it may be triggered by stressors in life.

Although, no one is quite sure about the exact causes of bipolar disorder, researchers have found some important clues. Bipolar disorder tends to be in the genes, meaning that it “runs in families.” About half the people with bipolar disorder have a family member with a mood disorder, such as depression.

A person who has one parent with bipolar disorder has a 15 to 25 percent chance of having the condition. A person who has a non-identical twin with the illness has a 25 percent chance of illness, the same risk as if both parents have bipolar disorder.

A person who has an identical twin (having exactly the same genetic material) with bipolar disorder has an even greater risk of developing the illness about an eightfold greater risk than a non-identical twin.

A study of adopted twins (where a child whose biological parent had the illness is raised in an adoptive family untouched by the illness) has helped researchers learn more about the genetic causes vs. environmental and life events causes. Bipolar disord

er is primarily a biological disorder that occurs in a specific area of the brain and is due to the dysfunction of certain neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers, in the brain. These chemicals may involve neurotransmitters like norepinephrine, serotonin and probably many others. As a biological disorder, it may lie dormant and be activated on its own or it may be triggered by external factors such as psychological stress and social circumstances.

Environmental factors in bipolar disorder may be a life event which may trigger a mood episode in a person with a genetic disposition for bipolar disorder. Even without clear genetic factors, altered health habits, alcohol or drug abuse or hormonal problems can trigger an episode. Among those at risk for the illness, bipolar disorder is appearing at increasingly early ages. This apparent increase in earlier occurrences may be due to under diagnosis of the disorder in the past. This change in the age of onset may be a result of social and environmental factors that are not yet understood.

Although substance abuse is not considered a cause of bipolar disorder, it can worsen the illness by interfering with recovery. Use of alcohol or tranquilizers may induce a more severe depressive phase.

Yet another cause of bipolar depression is that caused by medications. Medications such as antidepressants can trigger a manic episode in people who are susceptible to bipolar disorder. Therefore, a depressive episode must be treated carefully in those people who have had manic episodes. Because a depressive episode can turn into a manic episode when an antidepressant medication is taken, an anti-manic drug is also recommended to prevent a manic episode. The anti-manic drug creates a “ceiling,” partially protecting the person from antidepressant-induced mania.

Certain other medications can produce a “high” that resembles mania. Appetite suppressants, for example, may trigger increased energy, decreased need for sleep and increased talkativeness. After stopping the medication, however, the person returns to his normal mood.

Abhishek Agarwal

Author Bio
Abhishek has got some great <a

Bipolar Disorder is a deadly disease, it kills thousands every year. Bipolar often goes undiagnosed and people are left to think that they are "bad", "worthless", "undeserving", "a failure", and "unloved". These feelings often go to the extreme and people take their lives because they see no way out and they "just don't want to feel the pain any longer". Then you have people who may be diagnosed incorrectly and it can take years and much hardship to get proper help. You also have people that are diagnosed successfully and struggled for years to get the right medication. No related posts.

By: Brad12 Giannini25<div

Bipolar often goes undetected and people are left to think that they are “losers”, “worthless”, “hopeless”, “failures”, and “unloved”. These feelings often go to the extreme and people commit suicide because they see no way out and they “just don’t want to feel the pain any longer”. On the other hand some people are diagnosed incorrectly and it can take years and much hardship to get proper help. You also have people who are diagnosed correctly but still struggle for years to get the right medication. There is not a “fix all” drug on the market. Medication often becomes a science experiment or a form of art. Sometimes many drugs are tried unsuccessfully before individuals can find a combination of drugs that work. It is a tedious process that can take an individual on a rollercoaster ride of hell. The fortunate people find the right drug combination and go about a some what “normal” life. Please read the journal entry that Brad made one day in reference to his personal struggles with the disease of Bipolar Disorder. Brad has substituted more “gentle” words for the actual words that were used in several places so that you can feel the pain, hurt, and sorrow with out being turned off by the language. “Dear Bipolar, You are really a jerk, do you know that? I hate you. It does not seem fair that you are in m
<img

You are no good for me; you cause me hardship and suffering. You have really messed up my family life in so many ways and helped cause me to have very little self esteem. Of course my parents did not help that process either. Why do you taunt me with the manic stages when you know that all they are going to do is fart me up the next day? I hate how you drag me down for no apparent reason and then limit me to sleeping for 24 hours straight. I do not like the fact that you cause me to be unproductive and lower my self esteem. You make me feel like a piece of crap. I buy into all the bologna that you run through my head. You cause me great pain by making me a worse parent than I know I could be if I didn’t have you in my life. You encourage me to get angry at my family and be very short with them. You make me take my bad stuff out on them and it is hurting them in ways that I thought I would never ever repeat because I know that they are very destructive to the people around me. You cause me to need more sleep than the average person (8-9 hours per night) and I can’t drastically alter my sleeping schedule without possible negative side effects. You cause me to need more “down time” than most people need. I can’t be as productive as a “normal” person because you are present in my life. I am less motivated than I would like to be. I get less done than other people do. You give me limitations and restraints that other people don’t have. I have less focus and concentration than most. It is harder to turn off the negative tapes in my head. I will probably need to take medications for the rest of my life.” Bipolar Disorder will cause hardship in people’s lives until it is recognized and dealt with. There is hope and help, and with the proper diagnosis people can turn their lives around and learn to love themselves, the people around them and the world they live in.

Brad12 Giannini25

Author Bio
Brad Giannini was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 10 years ago and has had<br

Dreams about the person you love are very clear, even though most dreams are not comprehensible to your conscience. The unconscious mind that produces your dreams uses a symbolic language in order to show you what is happening inside you and many things more.

Why is this language so strange? Because you have inside you a terrible enemy: your primitive, wild side, that didn?t evolve like your human side. In other words, the same way that you are a primate in many ways and you have an animal body, you have also an animal conscience.

The unconscious mind is constantly trying to help you prevent craziness, exactly because your wild side, the evil anti-conscience, wants to destroy your human conscience through craziness and control your behavior. So, the wild anti-conscience shall not learn what the unconscious mind tells you in your dreams in order to protect you from its attacks.

You are obliged to learn how to translate the symbolic dream language if you want to understand the unconscious? messages, the same way that you have to learn a foreign language if you want to understand its meaning.

However, since love is the main reason why the human being becomes crazy and never again leaves the labyrinth of craziness and despair, the language used in dreams in order to give you information about the person you love is very clear, so clear that your human conscience can understand it if you learn a few basic details.

This is why I prepared a special e-book, dedicated only to the interpretation of dreams about the person y<div

Thanks to these warnings you won?t make serious mistakes and lose your happiness forever.

A serious mistake in the beginning of your life can ruin it completely and you?ll never manage to be really happy after that.

If you want to be loved and be really happy for life, you must be very careful and prepare the route of your life, paying attention to various very important details.

Nothing is simple for the human being, exactly because he already inherits too much absurdity in the wild side of his brain and psyche and the world where we live is a crazy place, where everyone is afraid of everyone else.

The bitter truth is that you practically cannot find real happiness in life. And the worst of it is that even if you find it some day, you rarely manage to keep it for as long as you live.

This is why I wrote for you also an e-book, giving you basic guidance about how you can find the right person for you and live happily for life.

I?m sure that the two e-books I prepared will save many lives and help many people find the kind of happiness that lasts forever, because it is based on the correct actions: the ones that lead you to peace, happiness, goodness, self-confidence and wisdom.

Find them at http://www.booksirecommend.com

Christina Sponias-22752

Author Bio
Prevent Depression and Craziness through the scientific method of Dream Interpretation discovered by Carl Jung and simplified by Christina Sponias, a writer who continued Jung’s research in the unknown region of the human psychic sphere.<br
