Everyone talks about the importance of setting goals, but how many people really understand the process of effective goal setting? Goal setting is the foundation for both personal and professional growth and should rank high on your priority list.

There are many areas in which to set goals: career, attitude, financial, artistic, social, and more! It’s not necessary to set goals in all areas, but you may want to prioritize which ones you’d like to focus on immediately. Once you start setting and achieving goals in one area, there is a natural “spillover” effect into the other areas.

Goal setting should follow a formula: S.M.A.R.T- specific, measurable, action-oriented, reasonable, and timely. An example might be: Lose 20 pounds through 90 minutes of exercise (4 times per week) and changing my eating habits over a 4 month period. As you can see we have laser focus on what we want to achieve, how we are going to achieve it, and when we expect results. Much better than saying “I want to lose weight”.

Another important aspect is positive language. Too often goals sound like painful work! Instead of a “to-do” list, how about an “action list” or “an action plan”. Proper language should inspire, motivate and give you solutions, not cause you stress and be something you dread.

Chunking a goal into manageable steps is another helpful tool that is under utilized. Often we set goals and as we start we get overwhelmed, the goal falls by the wayside. If the goal seems too
<img

A-being critical and must be completed that day; B-important, but could wait 1 day; and C-would like to get it done, but it could wait a few days. In this way, your goals are consistently being rotated up the priority level and are accomplished much more efficiently.

Finally, I think that visualization is an awesome tool to have in your toolbox when it comes to goal setting. Seeing the concepts that you are working toward is a powerful motivator that will keep you energized and on track.

Danielle Miller

Author Bio
Looking for more information see http://www.magnetic-goal-setting.com

Danielle Miller is a teacher/coach offering steps to success coaching, goal setting, learning styles and finding your passion.

http://www.teamdaniellemiller.com/blog

No related posts.

A Six-step system to live a much more successful life, everyday!

Action oriented stress

Balance life

Balanced Life

Emmanuel segui

Motivational

Self-improvement
<guid

The areas where you need to focus your attention are: your personal development, family, business or career, health, relationships, financial independence and the kind of service you can give to your community or church.

These seven areas are fundamental in your life and you will never truly be happy nor successful if you can’t find a balance in these areas. Now, if you are having difficulty finding a balance, perhaps this list is overwhelming. But don’t stop there.

The following 6 step system, known as the B-ALERT system is meant to help you find a balance and therefore avoid stress and depression, wreck in your marriage and day to day frustration.

B in the B-ALERT system refers to Blueprint. A blueprint is a map or a schedule for the day. You can take 10 or 15 minutes and prepare it the night before. List your activities and your most important goals for that specific day. When you prepare it at night, your subconscious will work on your goals during your sleep and when you awake the next day, you will find that you’ve already solved some of your problems.

A refers to Action. Your actions need to lead you to successful activities that move you to your major goals. Everyday, do something specific that will bring you closer to your major definite purpose, your single most important goal in life. Successful people are action and result oriented. They set goals and they go for it. Everyday, they accomplish something that is helping them reac<div

Someone said: “there are two things that will make you wiser: the books you read and the people you meet.” Everyday, you can read books or listen to audio programs. You can go to seminars, meet people and learn from them. Successful people have good habits. Some of them are: reading a book everyday for 30 minutes in their area of expertise, listening to learning tapes in the car and going to seminars. By learning this way, you will increase your level of competency faster than ever.

E refers to Exercise. Don’t treat your health lightly. Study nutrition, health and fitness. Walk around for 15 minutes or do some exercises. Control your weight. Begin while you’re young. Don’t wait to be 50 years old to begin controlling your weight. Remember that when you have more energy, you move faster and you accomplish more. You attract more opportunities to earn more, learn more and live a better life.

R refers to Relaxing – Among the factors related to the development of illness is stress. According to a study on Stress and Illness in the Workplace, it is estimated that up to 75% of all illness is stress-related. To relax, you can take a nap, meditate, listen to music, have some family time, or plan vacations.

T refers to Thinking. At the end of the day, practice reflective thinking. It consists of making a movie of the day. What did you do well? What could be improved?

Finding balance in your life is necessary. With this 6-step system, you can live a more successful life because you can do more, and much more efficiently. When you do more, you can have more: more satisfaction, more happiness. You become more focused on what is more important to you.

Emmanuel Segui

No related posts.

Yoga Joins Individual With Devine

Action oriented stress

Advice

Self-improvement

yoga

Yoga gear

Yoga Meditation
<guid

Probably this is what the Yoga Practices in the present century suggests to. That is to join the individual with the divine!

Yoga has several definitions. Its functions and character can be defined in hundreds of ways. One of the short and meaningful definitions of yoga is “Efficiency in work is yoga.”

As for the action-oriented explanation of yoga, any action that you do with the motivated desire is not yoga because its results are impermanent! Action done with a pure mind, with total surrender, without worrying over the fruits of actions is yoga.

Every action has a reaction. And the intensity of the reaction is in proportion to the intensity of the action! Even the scientists agree on this principle. One of the rare agreements between the scientists and the spiritualists! Normally, the two opposing forces- the two contending forces!

When you understand this fundamental principle, why worry over the results of your actions? Why worry over the matter, over which you should not worry at all!

Patanjali, one of the most revered Sages of India, is the father of Yoga. He wrote the immortal book, based on his practical experiences and the divine vision! His writings and practice have found worldwide acceptance now! He wrote the book about 2500 years ago!

Yoga has the body aspect, the mind aspect and the beyond the mind aspect, which is also known as the transcendental level! This leve<div

It can’t be explained by words!

Sage Patanjali has mentioned eight sutras: They are: Yama, Niyama,Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhui.

The asanas refer to various physical postures. This aspect of Patanjali’s yoga has become very popular in India as well as abroad! According to the claims, there is no disease that can not be cured by practicing these asanas. If you practice some specific asanas, no disease will ever come near to you.

The last sutra, Samadhi is the supreme goal of the individual. There is nothing beyond to achieve for a human being. It is “be all and end all.”

You need to learn these asanas from a qualified teacher. Some of the asanas are difficult physical postures, and if done without proper knowledge about their intricacies may cause more damage. Start slowly, and do the asanas in accordance with your physical capacity!

All your problems of the modern industrialized civilization such as stress, tension, confusion, blood pressure and all negative tendencies will leave from the back door, once you come into the thick of yoga! They will never return, they will go for ever!

“Yoga is what yoga does!”

Ashish Jain

No related posts.

Time Management Program: Do You Procrastinate Because You’re a Time Management Foiler?

Action oriented stress

Photography

Time Management

Time management program

Time management strategy

Time management technique

Time Management Tip

Time Management Training
<guid

You procrastinate because you?re just plain stubborn, and you?re determined to show others that they aren?t going to push you into doing anything. You?re your own person, and you?ll do what needs to be done when and if you decide to do so, and not before. It seems logical on the one hand, but it has also caused you some pretty bad unnecessary grief. If what you are asked to do shouldn?t be done stick to your guns and don?t budge, but if deep down you know that it?s going to have to be done at some point you may be better off choosing when and communicating that to others.

To get to the bottom of why you procrastinate you need to identify what triggers you to want to foil the project through your time management behaviors. Are you more task oriented or people oriented? When you?re pushed to do people oriented activities and you prefer task oriented activities you?re naturally going to balk and avoid doing it. The other triggers could involve work pace, problems, and procedures. If the project at hand requires you to behave in a manner that is contrary to how you like to respond to situations involving work pace, problems, people, and procedures you will choose to avoid the situation by doing nothing.

You also need to think about how procrastination is serving you. When you procrastinate does that get you off the hook from some projects you really didn?t want any part of from the beginning? If it does that?s positive re-enforcement to continue the behavior.

Then you ne<div

When you procrastinate does that end up causing you a lot of stress with severe consequences if you don?t meet a deadline? Obviously, that?s negative re-enforcement. As long as the positive re-enforcement exceeds the negative re-enforcement you?ll just continue the behavior unless you discover the underlying motivation to stop procrastinating.

To really become effective in your time management you want to understand what motivates you to take action. When you clearly understand what motivates you to take action in conjunction with your dominant time behaviors, then you can evaluate how you can best fulfill your needs. Everything in life doesn?t have to be on a tight time schedule. You just want to make sure that how you use time isn?t causing you more trouble than it is those around you.

Procrastination is a tough challenge. As you begin to understand why you?re procrastinating, and how your procrastinating it gives your the power to regain control of how you manage your time so your time behaviors serve you well.

Cheryl A. You may not believe that, but sometimes stress can motivate us to do things we may not normally do in a relaxed state. Stress can make us brave enough to go forward when normally we might hesitate.

We have to be resilient in order to effectively cope with stress and help it enhance our life instead of control it. How do you get strong and resilient? By learning how to take control of your stress and make it work FOR you instead of AGAINST you. It’s about you managing stress before stress manages you.

Recognizing stress symptoms can be a positive influence in that we’re compelled to take action – and the sooner the better. We experience stress as we readjust our lives. Your body is asking for your help when you feel these stress symptoms.

There are three major approaches to manage stress.

The first is the action-oriented approach. In this method, the problems that cause stress are identified and necessary changes are made for a stress free life.

The next approach is emotionally oriented. The person overcomes stress by giving a different color to the experience that caused stress. The situation, which causes stress, is seen humorously or from a different angle.

The third way is acceptance-oriented approach. This approach focuses on surviving the stress caused due to some problem in the past.

The first stress management tip is to understand the root cause of your stress. A few minutes spend to recognize yo<div

Stand up from your current position and walk. Stretch yourself. Soon you will find that the stress has lessened.

This is because you have relaxed now and relaxation is the best medicine for stress. Smiling is yet another way of stress management. If you are at the work place, just stand up and smile at your colleague in the far corner. You will see a change in your mood. Learn some simple yoga or mediation techniques.

You can also invent your own stress management tips.
