Sense of touch bears the maximum affection among the human beings as well as among other creatures. In human beings, it is considered to be most important form of contact. It makes us feel connected and loved by people around us. Massage is one such activity in which we use touch through rubbing and kneading our body parts to feel relaxation and calm. It aids proper circulation of blood, relaxation of muscles. Sometimes massage is used as therapy for sensual stimulation. Whenever we get a twist or strain in muscles or headache, our first reaction is to massage the aching place; medicine comes next in our mind. The basic aim of massage is to let the body heal itself, without any medication and involving harmful chemicals.

There are numerous benefits, which can be obtained by massage such as relieving of stress, relaxation of body and decrease in blood pressure and the list of benefits is endless. For example, if we happen to be in a situation, where a little stress in the neck may make us wear neck collars for weeks but if we know proper technique or a person who can massage the neck in a proper manner then there is no need to wear collar anymore.  

This might get you out of trouble very soon. Neck stress or pain can be caused by number of ways even sleeping in a wrong posture may result in a stress in the neck. If you don’t want to go to a professional massager then you should know the proper technique of neck massage because our neck contains bones tendon, joints and nerves. Therefore, we got to be pretty sure about the real cause of pain. Moreover, if you want to give or have massage on your neck then you ought to know the proper procedure.

Before giving neck massage, position yourself towards your partner’s head, while he/she is lying on him/her back. Use masaza oil and rub it on both hands to give massage to the upper part of back. After rubbing your hands on the upper back, point your fingers toward each other and press down. After it, you need to glide the hands out, towards the top of the arm. Cradle your partner’s head in one hand and then turn it slightly towards the right. With the other hand, glide firmly out from the center of the back to the top of the arm, along the top of the shoulder and from the back of the neck to the base of the skull.

Make small circles onto the back of the neck to release tension and keep it down towards the side of the neck to the back. Give firm strokes to the side of the neck as well as along the top of the shoulder to stretch the neck muscles. Turn the head back to original position and stretch gently to remove the stress. Similarly, there are few other methods of giving neck massage such as use of hot water bottle which can also help in relieving any stress or pain in your neck.
