If you've felt similar to losing your mind simply because you are drawing mental blanks very often, then it is time to examine the cause for such memory loss. At times there is more than a single change to be suggested to a person so that he gets back being normal with the ability to remember.
If you are stressing too much merely by taking up too many projects all at once, then it would make become preoccupied. You may also feel as though it is difficult to afford the time for relaxing and recharging your brain. However, to do a good job not mattering what the job is, one should take good care of oneself. Furthermore, any physical damage due to overworking, over-thinking would lead towards mental melt-down. The short-term memory would begin to suffer, hence, causing to forget the simplest of most words.
At the outset, we should consider if anything could be done to ease our burden. It could be like learning how to say no especially when we have lots on our agenda. When possible let someone else take it over and delegate responsibilities. Always stop giving more of yourself so that you don't begin suffering because of it. Often, it is easy doing much for loved ones. Parents decide things may be done better and faster and in a satisfactory manner, and hence they do not allow children to handle many things they are quite capable to do. Hence, every overworked mother, who loses her keys or the wallet, forgets putting fuel in the car, or putting clothes for wash, cannot remember any neighbor's name they have spoken and seen very often, or calls their child by the other child's name. Sometimes the children would not do the chore like you or quickly like you or sometimes as well as you; however, the child cannot learn to perfect efforts unless performed by the trial and error method. Benefit of doubt should be provided by accepting all the imperfect achievements when possible. Some gentle praise and guidance seem to be the key.
There are some health reasons which could cause the words to escape us. The short-term memory loss seems to be one of the drawbacks towards having diabetes. If one struggles with the blood sugar levels, he is sure to suffer memory challenges every now and then. Motivation, the proper medication and diet, along with some strict self-discipline would get the situation under control and memory would be back to normal.
An old phrase which says 'Use it or lose it' conversely says we can retain the sanity and the memory loss merely by making some effort; exercise the brains. Apart from various benefits of practical physical exercise, some mental exercise is essential for the overall health. One could take up some new activity and something to think, some ways to present challenges to mind. You definitely would prefer to avoid trying too hard or may just get discouraged. Start with baby steps when necessary, keeping up to each accomplishment by making every new challenge harder. Besides improving the ability in recalling words, this would boost the self-esteem.
